June is ‘PRIDE‘ month

Diversity, equality and inclusivity are values held close to our heart at Pro-Stretch.

Every June, LGBTQIA+ Pride Month is celebrated to honour the 1969 Stonewall uprising in NYC, that changed gay rights for a lot of people in America and around the world.

Pride Month is dedicated to the observance of community visibility and the movement toward acceptance and equality of LGBTQIA+ people. It also calls for people to understand how damaging homophobia is and can be in society.

The Stonewall uprising was a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. The last Sunday in June was initially celebrated as “Gay Pride Day,” but the actual day was flexible. In major cities across the nation the “day” soon grew to encompass a month-long series of events. Today, celebrations include pride parades, picnics, parties, workshops, symposia and concerts, and LGBTQIA+ Pride Month events attract millions of participants around the world.

2022 marked 50 years since the first UK Pride protest march in London, 1972.

To celebrate ‘Pride’ month, we have put together a celebration of our ‘Pride’ inspired products, showing the different ways colour can be applied to enhance a product, and the diversity using colour can bring.
